Due to persistently low collections over the weekend, Kuttey didn’t experience much activity. Even on Sunday, there was no growth as the receipts remained below the Rs. 2 crore threshold. The total amounts currently stand at Rs. 3.75 crores*. If one puts this into context, the weekend’s total receipts are also lower than Kaminey’s opening day total. The 2009 release of that movie still brought in a whopping 4.40 crores rupees. Later, it amassed a lifetime profit of Rs. 41.42 crores.
Kuttey’s ability to earn more than Rs. 10 crores in his lifetime would be quite challenging from here. There would undoubtedly be a decline in numbers during the weekdays because there hasn’t been any discernible rise over the weekend. It is now a matter of waiting to see how much more money still comes in, but you can be confident that it will drop to about Rs. 50 lakhs given that Friday was just Rs. 1.07 crores.
All eyes are on Ved to see if he was able to maintain the Rs. 1 crore level during the workweek. While the collections on Saturday and Sunday did surpass the Rs. 2 crore and Rs. 3 crore marks, respectively, to bring the overall total to Rs. 48.50 crores*, it would take some effort to ensure that the fall is contained and at least Rs. 1 crore more comes in. The collections on Thursday were Rs. 1.35 crores. There is a good chance that it would actually happen.
As you read this, Riteish’s Marjaavaan, Double Dhamaal, and Kya Super Kool Hai Hum have all surpassed their lifetime scores, and Heyy Babyy is now in second place with a score of Rs. 50 crores. Since Ved still has a lot of momentum and is expected to comfortably reach the Rs. 65–70 crore level at some point, it will end up surpassing the last film on the list even after accounting for inflation and higher ticket costs.
The Final Figures are still awaited.
