29th May 2023, Mumbai : Babil Khan, the talented son of the legendary Irrfan Khan, embarked on his acting journey in the captivating Netflix film “Qala,” where he shared the screen with the brilliant Triptii Dimri. The release of this psychological drama last year was met with an overwhelming response from fans, who showered Babil with praise for his remarkable performance. Unlike aspiring to emulate his late father, Babil has always emphasized his desire to forge his own unique path in the industry. While acknowledging the similarities between himself and Irrfan Khan, Babil consistently emphasizes the importance of remaining true to his own individuality.
During his appearance at the illustrious IIFA 2023 awards in Abu Dhabi, Babil Khan graced the red carpet alongside his mother, Sutapa Sikdar. In an intimate conversation with the media, he reminisced about his father, the late Irrfan Khan, and expressed, “Every day of my life, I miss him dearly. When I was growing up, I didn’t have many friends, and he was my sole confidant. The fondest memory I have with baba is laughing together.” When questioned about the possibility of reprising any of his father’s iconic roles, Babil promptly responded, “No… Why would you attempt to recreate baba’s brilliance? I believe he performed those characters exceptionally well.”
Recently, while Babil and his mother, Sutapa Sikdar, were spotted at the airport on their way to Abu Dhabi, he engaged in a lighthearted conversation with the paparazzi. Witnessing Babil’s humility firsthand, fans were captivated as they observed him joking around with the photographers. As he bid farewell and departed from the airport, Babil playfully remarked, “I will work diligently with all my heart.” One of the photographers replied, “But don’t forget us, brother.” Babil swiftly retorted, “No, if I forget you all, I won’t be able to become a superstar.”
