31st May 2023,Mumbai: According to Rajesh Khattar, ShahidKapoor’s school friend, there was a particular incident from their school days that stood out. It was a time when Shahiddeveloped a liking for a girl, and to Rajesh’s surprise, he even proudly displayed her picture at their home.
Rajesh confessed his apprehension about Shahid’s potential desire to marry this girl in the future. He admitted feeling anxious about the situation, uncertain about how to handle it. However, Shahid’s mother, Neliima Azeem, reassured Rajesh that there was not much at stake and they need not worry.
Shahid’s Academic Challenges
When Siddharth Kannan inquired about Shahid’s cherished childhood memories, Rajesh revealed that Shahid wasn’t particularly excellent academically, though this fact might not be widely known. Shahid often managed to pass his exams, but the whole process was quite stressful for him, especially when the time came to apply for college.
Career Setbacks for Rajesh Khattar
Rajesh also shared his puzzlement regarding the decline in his career after appearing in films like “Race 3” and “Don.” He went through a phase of unemployment that lasted for three years. To make ends meet, he ventured into various economic endeavors. Eventually, he found work as a dubbing artist for movies such as “Ponniyin Selvan I,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “Iron Man.”
Rajesh and Shahid’s Family Dynamics
In 1990, Rajesh and Neliima tied the knot, and five years later, their son Ishaan Khatter was born. Prior to this, Neliima had given birth to Shahid Kapoor in 1981 and had been married to Pankaj Kapur since 1979. However, in 2001, Neliima and Rajesh decided to part ways, ending their marriage.
