2 November 2023, Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut’s latest film, ‘Tejas,’ is experiencing a significant setback at the box office, with collections plummeting on November 1. The movie, directed by Sarvesh Mewara, was released alongside Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail,’ leading to a box office clash, but ‘Tejas’ continues to struggle, earning just Rs 5.15 crore on its sixth day.
‘Tejas’ Fails to Gain Traction
Despite a strong start upon its release on October 27, ‘Tejas’ has failed to gain momentum at the box office. On November 1, the film’s collections dipped to a mere Rs 5 lakh, a stark decline from its previous day’s earnings of Rs 45 lakh. As a result, the total box office collection in India now stands at Rs 5.15 crore.
Kangana Ranaut Encourages Theater Viewing
In a bid to boost the film’s prospects, Kangana Ranaut urged her fans to watch ‘Tejas’ in theaters rather than wait for its OTT release. She expressed concern about the dwindling footfall in theaters, citing the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic and the threat to the survival of theaters. Kangana emphasized the importance of supporting the theatrical experience.
A Closer Look at ‘Tejas’
Directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, ‘Tejas’ features an ensemble cast including Kangana Ranaut, Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Ashish Vidyarthi, and others. The film centers around the character of Tejas Gill, an air force officer, played by Kangana Ranaut.
Slow Decline in Occupancy
Despite its strong start, ‘Tejas’ has seen a gradual decline in occupancy, with an overall 8.39 percent occupancy on November 1. The film’s box office performance remains a subject of concern as it struggles to compete with other releases.
