8th June 2023, Mumbai : The much-awaited film ‘Adipurush’ is generating immense anticipation as the countdown for its release has already begun. Recently, a grand event was held to unveil the film’s final trailer, which was attended by the film’s cast and crew. The event took place at Tirupati on a grand scale, and the entire team, along with the lead actors Kriti Sanon and Prabhas, were present. The event witnessed a massive turnout of Prabhas’ fans, showcasing their enthusiasm for the upcoming film. The extravagant launch at the Shri Venkateswara University stadium reportedly cost around 2.5 crore, with an additional expenditure of 50 lakhs on firecrackers alone.
The release of the final action trailer of ‘Adipurush’ has undoubtedly created a huge buzz among people. However, amidst the excitement, certain allegations and mistakes made by the makers in the trailer have come to light. While some of these allegations may be subjective, they cannot be entirely ignored. Here are some of the claims made by viewers:
VFX –
• The portrayal of Lanka in the movie appears too perfect and lacking any imperfections. Viewers point out that in reality, even the simplest objects like a T-shirt would have natural wrinkles, which seem to be missing in the computer-generated depiction.
• One particular scene involving Lord Ram riding on the back of Lord Hanuman and flying presents an odd visual effect. Observers have noted the absence of Lord Ram’s leg shadow, revealing a discrepancy in the CGI rendering.
• The depiction of Lanka in the movie is described as black, dark and anxious, whereas traditional accounts describe it as a mesmerizing city made of gold.
Appearance and Overall –
• Lord Ram, known for his calm and kind demeanor, is portrayed with an excessive amount of rage in the movie, which contrasts with his established character.
• Ravana’s attachment to the Rudraksha beads, which he considered sacred, is said to be significant. However, in the trailer, the Rudraksha beads scatter into pieces while Ravana is shown kidnapping Sita Mata.
• In the trailer, when Lord Hanuman meets Sita Mata, he is portrayed as being of normal size, whereas in the original story, he was depicted as being atomic in size.
• A dialogue in the trailer, “Bharat Ki Beti” (Daughter of Bharat), has been criticized for not aligning with the term used in the epic Ramayana, where the land is referred to as “Aaryavrat.”
• Jatayu, a character in the movie, seems like a kite (bird), while in the original story, Jatayu was depicted as a vulture.
• Lord Ram is seen wearing armor and footwear in the trailer, which deviates from the traditional depiction of him.
• Lord Hanuman, another central character of the film, can be seen wearing leather, which is inconsistent with his portrayal in mythology.
These allegations and discrepancies have sparked discussions among the viewers, with varying opinions emerging about the film’s authenticity and adherence to the source material. It remains to be seen how these concerns will be addressed by the filmmakers or if they will impact the overall reception of the movie.
Directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, along with a team of dedicated producers, ‘Adipurush’ is set to release worldwide on June 16, 2023.
