23rd March, Mumbai: Recently released worldwide across cinemas, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway marked the return of acclaimed actress Rani Mukerji to the big screen after two years. The film has been lauded for its powerful story and performances. Regarding her recent release and milestones that defined her career, Rani Mukerji spoke with IMDb in their exclusive segment, ‘On The Scene’.

Speaking about what has changed for her since the start of her career, Rani said, “With Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, I was accepted as an actor in Hindi cinema. With Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, I am doing what my fans love me doing best, which is coming on screen and performing for them. Both the films had very strong roles. What makes me happy is I am continuing to do roles on subjects that involve Indian women and portraying them in the best possible way. Through my portrayals and films, I am able to showcase to the global audiences what an Indian woman stands for.”

On the most challenging part of Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Rani mentioned, “The most challenging part was the responsibility to bring Sagarika’s story on celluloid through Devika’s character and to make the audience experience the pain that a mother went through when she was separated from her children. Frustration, anger, disbelief and loneliness. Then the acceptance of the situation, the inner strength & determination & grit shown by her in winning back her children’s custody and not giving up the fight even when going up against all odds, against a nation, against her husband and against her family. There were so many different emotions that I had to make an audience feel for Devika and go with her along the film’s journey.”
