Eetha Actress Shraddha Kapoor Became Selective After Stree 2 Success: ‘Bohot Paise Offer Hue Lekin…’

Shraddha Kapoor is finally returning to theatres after a long break. The actress has now revealed why she stayed away from signing films after the success of Stree 2.

The actress last appeared on the big screen in Stree 2, which arrived on August 15, 2024. After its success, Shraddha received several film offers but decided against rushing into another project. During a recent Ask Me Anything session on Instagram, a fan asked what advice she would give young girls navigating their careers. Her response offered a glimpse into the thinking behind her professional choices.

Shraddha Kapoor Reveals Why She Took A Break After Stree 2

While answering the question, Shraddha explained that she wanted to find a story she genuinely connected with. She said, "Stree 2 ke baad mujhe bahot filmein offer hui, bahot paise bhi offer hue. Lekin maine decide kar liya tha ke jab tak mujhe woh perfect kahani nahi milti na, main kuch sign nahi karne wali. Toh mere dil ne kaha ke mujhe patience rakhna padega aur maine woh kiya (After Stree 2, I was offered many films and a lot of money. But I had decided that I wouldn't sign anything until I found the perfect story. So my heart told me to be patient, and I did)."

She also admitted that waiting was not always easy. However, she believes the decision was worth making. Shraddha encouraged young women to trust their instincts while making career choices. She added, "So, I would say listen to that voice in your heart. Kabhi kabhi difficulty ho jati hai, but it's totally worth it (Sometimes it gets difficult, but it's totally worth it)."

There had also been speculation about Shraddha not receiving enough film offers after Stree 2. However, her father, Shakti Kapoor, dismissed those claims in December 2025. Speaking on The Powerful Humans podcast, he said, "She does very few films." He also explained that his daughter is selective about her projects and prefers doing one or two films a year.

Shraddha will next appear in Eetha, directed by Laxman Utekar. The biographical drama features her as Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, a legendary Marathi Lavani and Tamasha performer. Randeep Hooda, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Siddharth Jadhav also feature in the film. The project marks her return to theatres after her previous release.

The makers unveiled the film's trailer on October 30, 2026. Produced by Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, Eetha is scheduled to release in theatres on December 4, 2026. The film was initially planned for an August 2026 release before its date was changed. It will also face a box-office clash with Abbas–Mustan's 3 Monkeys.
