Alot of actors and film makers including Ali abbas Zafar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sunny Kaushal, Tabu, Vishal Bhardwaj attended the event. Zoya on the other hand, joined live from LA and spoke about her upcoming ‘The Archies’.
Zoya Akhtar is one among the film makers who has given incredible films to the industry. Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara, Talaash, Gully Boy and Lakshya are some of her major hits. Speaking of The Archies, she also added, “I am really obssessed about friendships”. And looking at her films, you easily encounter some hardcore friendship goals. She has always been keen in her work, especially, when its about friendships.
After talking to the media about the project, a question popped up to her from media that said, “There are alot of other comics, then why only ‘The Archies?” to which she replied laughing, “Because that’s the one they offered me”. She has always been a great comics fan is what she stated while addressing. The film maker sounded really happy and proud to speak about it because there are alot of other countries the comic makers could go to make the film and they still chose to collab with India. Its the first ever Film version of ‘The Archies’.
The Archies, a comic book adaption that is set in the 1960’s has Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor, daughters of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and late Bollywood actor Sridevi, and Agastya Nanda, the grandson of megastar Amitabh Bachchan among the seven actors who will feature in the live-action musical film which will arrive in 2023 on Netflix.
