7th February, Mumbai : Raj and DK are well recognised for their eccentric dramas, many of them are crime-based. No matter what topic they focus on, all of their work bear their distinctive stamp of eccentricity. The same is true of their upcoming Farzi show on Amazon Prime Video. This time, though, they wanted to balance the production’s great scale with its eccentricity, and they did this by filming the show. featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Shahid Kapoor, and taking place both inside and outside of India
The show, which serves as Shahid’s OTT debut, is about a thief who begins producing counterfeit money on a massive scale in an effort to become wealthy quickly. He encounters a roadblock in the form of the cop, who is portrayed by Sethupathi.
Farzi was filmed, according to the producers, in Mumbai, Goa, Alibaug, Nepal, and Jordan. In a note from the creators outlining further information about this tactic, “As all the cities are way different from each other in terms of their landscapes, we can only expect to see some really breath-taking and mesmerizing visuals in Farzi. Usually, web series do not explore shooting locations on such a huge scale considering the budget and time constraints, but Raj & DK are extremely committed to making this experience grander for the audience that they have never experienced on their OTT screens.”
Following the two seasons of The Family Man, which is also available on Amazon Prime Video, Farzi is Raj and DK’s upcoming OTT production. Expectations for Farzi have increased as a result of the popularity of that programme, which starred Manoj Bajpayee in the title character.
The debut Hindi film for Vijay Sethupathi, a star in the south, is Farzi. Farzi, a D2R films production that also stars Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar, will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on February 10.
