The “boycott campaign” is deemed “IRRELEVANT” and the product of “SICK minds” by trade professionals!

Laal Singh Chaddha, which deflated last month, disappointed both the crowd and the film’s creators. Despite starring superstar Aamir Khan, movie did not even open decently. The ‘boycott brigade’ took credit for it and many believed that the hostility spread by the group stopped moviegoers from attending the film in cinemas.

The film Brahmastra, which debuts tomorrow i.e September 9, was the next target of this boycott. As the movie’s release date drew closer, more people started calling for a boycott. But to their horror, ticket sales were also rising every day! Hence, does it show that the whole boycott effort is irrelevant?

Veteran trader Taran Adarsh remarked, “This time, as you can see, the calls for a boycott of Brahmastra are more aggressive. But I’ve always believed that if a film has strong content, nothing—including the IPL, bad weather, tests, or boycott calls—can hurt it. 2018’s Padmaavat was released in a highly charged atmosphere. However, it was unaffected. But in the instance of Laal Singh Chaddha, these voices are more pronounced since the content is weak.

Producer and industry expert Girish Johar concurred, saying “There’s a big difference between the number of people who buy tickets to see a movie and those who call for a boycott. Even in the past, these protests were ineffective. Even Padmaavat faced issues but it was such a big hit.”

Raj Bansal, the proprietor of Jaipur’s Entertainment Paradise, roared, “Bakwaas hai sab. Sick brains are behind this boycott movement. Who gives a damn what they say?”
