Sidharth Malhotra is prepared to play yet another military character. This time, the actor will play a soldier who battles terrorists who have hijacked an aeroplane, building on his outstanding performance in Shershaah from the previous year. The actor started a fresh schedule in Manali today even though the initial look was presented last year.
This will be Dharma Productions’ first entry into the aerial action market, according to a daily. According to reports, the action thriller is based on a real event that happened in the 1990s and stars Sidharth Malhotra in an action role. After being delayed by the epidemic, the movie will supposedly hit theatres in 2023.
Sidharth seemed intense in the first look of Yodha, which Karan Johar unveiled last year. “After scaling the mountains, I’m honoured to bring Sidharth Malhotra back in the lead role of Dharma Productions’ Yodha, the first instalment of the action franchise. Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, a dynamic combo, directed the film,” Karan stated.
Sidharth and Karan have worked together on a variety of movies in the past, including his directorial debut Student of the Year, Hasee Toh Phasee, Kapoor and Sons, and Shershaah. Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna will also appear in Yodha.
The movie will be helmed by debutant director duo Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre and produced by Karan Johar for Dharma and Shashank Khaitan under his newly-minted banner Mentor Disciple Films.
