Every day that goes by, Pathaan is making waves at the box office. In addition to being a treat for action fans, the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone movie also made Bollywood fans happy with its generous serving of traditional masala entertainment. Like other Bollywood villains, the adversary John Abraham, called Jim, experienced a fitting climax, but director Siddharth Anand hinted that things might not be over yet.
Readers are likely well aware that Aditya Chopra’s ambitious YRF Spy Universe, which also comprises the films Tiger (starring Salman Khan) and War (starring Hrithik Roshan), includes Pathaan. In light of this, a number of sequels and spin-offs to various characters are being requested by fans, including fans of John Abraham who want director Siddharth Anand to create a spin-off movie about Jim. Anand responded to it by saying, “It’s too early to talk about anything,” in his most recent interview with Pinkvilla. Jim’s character, in my opinion, does call for a prequel.
He continued by saying that Jim’s character might not actually be dead. “Everything may happen,” he continued. “You can do anything with the characters in this realm; it’s like a playground. You can have a Jim prequel, but wait—what if Jim is still alive? What if a harness was used to pull a parachute?”
Speaking of the Spy Universe, the first step has already been taken with the addition of numerous references in the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone movie. The crossover appears to be very possible in the universe, as evidenced by the appearance of Ashutosh Rana as Colonel Luthra (from War), the numerous allusions to Tiger and Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) throughout the movie, and Salman Khan’s cameo in Pathaan. In fact, the Tiger 3 producers have already said that Shah Rukh Khan will make a special appearance, just like Salman did in the Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi-starring movie.
