9th February, Mumbai : Filmmaker Ronnie Screwvala responded to comments made about the Shah Rukh Khan’s most recent film Pathaan’s box office performance as it continues to dominate theatres around the globe. Ronnie responded to a tweet from industry expert Taran Adarsh in which he stated that Pathaan is anticipated to surpass the lifetime box office records of blockbusters like KGF2 and Baahubali 2.
Ronnie tweet read, “Just to be very factual and clear. Dangal is and will remain the highest-grossing Hindi movie globally – just in China it did 1200+ cr. Just so we keep the record straight.” Taran’s earlier tweet read, ”#Pathaan will cross lifetime biz of #KGF2 #Hindi [2nd highest] today [Wed]… Big question: Will #Pathaan surpass #Baahubali2 #Hindi in the coming days?… [Week 2] Fri 13.50 cr, Sat 22.50 cr, Sun 27.50 cr, Mon 8.25 cr, Tue 7.50 cr. Total: ₹ 430.25 cr.”
Being one of the most well-known film producers in the business, Ronnie Screwvala is the man behind such blockbusters as Uri, Chennai Express, Dhamaka, and many more. His comment, according to a DNA report, didn’t go over well with Shah Rukh supporters. According to reports, one of them said, “Screwvala isn’t even associated with Dangal. Why is he being jealous of Pathaan’s success.” Whereas other comment read, “Imagine being a top producer and tweeting against a box office comparison like a 15 year old fanboy.”
The tweet is currently unavailable on the social web and was deleted soon later he started getting bad response.

Deepika Padukone and John Abraham along with Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan. After a four-year hiatus, Shah Rukh made his film comeback.
