Awarapan 2 Box Office Day 4: Emraan Hashmi Film DROPS 64% on Monday, Earns THIS Much

Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani’s romantic action drama Awarapan 2 witnessed a major drop in box office collections on its first Monday. However, despite the decline, the film has maintained a strong overall position at the box office.

Released on August 14, Awarapan 2 opened in cinemas alongside Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi and Preity Zinta’s period drama Batwara 1947. The Emraan Hashmi starrer has managed to build a strong total during its opening weekend.

According to Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 collected Rs 9.25 crore net in India on Day 4. The film recorded the collection across 10,849 shows. The Monday collection marks a 64.4% drop compared to its Day 3 collection of Rs 26 crore. Despite the sharp fall, the film’s strong opening weekend has helped it cross an important milestone.

With its Day 4 earnings, Awarapan 2 has collected Rs 91 crore net in India. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 109.02 crore.

The film has also managed to perform well in overseas markets. On Day 4, Awarapan 2 earned Rs 2.50 crore overseas, taking its total overseas gross collection to Rs 21.80 crore. The film’s current worldwide gross collection stands at Rs 130.82 crore.

The 64.4% drop on the first Monday may look significant, but the film’s overall performance remains strong when compared with its reported budget.

According to reports, Awarapan 2 has been made on a budget of around Rs 45 crore. With its India net collection already touching Rs 91 crore and worldwide gross crossing Rs 130 crore, the film has delivered a strong theatrical performance so far. The next few days will be important for the film, especially to see whether it can maintain steady collections during the weekdays.

While Awarapan 2 has performed well commercially so far, the film received a mixed response from The Filmy Charcha. The reviewer awarded the movie 2.5 stars and praised Emraan Hashmi’s presence while pointing out issues with the screenplay and direction.

The review stated, “Overall, Awarapan 2 offers nothing new or great. A better screenplay and direction could have saved the movie, and the predictable twists and turns are the villain here.”

The review further added that Emraan Hashmi’s fans may enjoy the film, while others could find it disappointing.

For now, Awarapan 2 has delivered a very good box office performance despite its first Monday drop. With its reported budget of Rs 45 crore and worldwide collection already crossing Rs 130 crore, the film has emerged as a strong theatrical performer.
