With An Action Hero and Bhediya both premiering a week apart, the Bollywood box office was supposed to skyrocket, but neither film was able to make an impression. While Bhediya had a strong start, An Action Hero had a lacklustre Friday. While Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s film allegedly exceeded Rs 50 Cr at the box office in two weeks, Ayushmann’s film is yet to collect Rs 10 Cr in a week.
A Box Office Analysis of Action Hero
Since the outset, the earnings of an Action Hero have been unsatisfactory. The film is failing to generate even a crore in a single day after seven days. According to sources, the film grossed over Rs 85 lakhs on its seventh day of distribution. The film grossed Rs 9.58 crore in its first week.
Box Office Results for Bhediya
Bhediya, on the opposite hand, isn’t performing well, but it’s still doing better than An Action Hero. The picture had a decent start but gradually bogged down. According to preliminary statistics, Bhediya earned Rs 1.10 crore on the 14th day. This brings the film’s total earnings to Rs 57.07 crore.
An Action Hero, which also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, follows the narrative of Maanav Khurana (Ayushmann), an action star who accidently murders Vicky Solanki, the younger brother of legendary criminal and Jat leader Bhoora Solanki (played by Jaideep Ahlawat). Khurana conducts the deed after declining to play a criminal in a biopic since he wants to avoid the ‘bhai log,’ or underworld.
The creature comedy ‘Bhediya,’ starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, earned Rs 12 crore globally on day one, but has since experienced a decreasing trend. Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee, and Saurabh Shukla also feature in the film, which is directed by Amar Kaushik. The story takes place in Arunachal Pradesh. Bhaskar, a young guy, is bitten by a wolf in the wild and begins to turn into a shape-shifting werewolf. He and his buddies search for clues in order to discover a cure and solve an age-old mystery.
