7th June 2023,Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan, a renowned actor, continues his cherished Sunday tradition of greeting his devoted fans outside Jalsa, one of his residences in Mumbai. In a captivating blog post, the actor shares a series of captivating images that demonstrate how, despite evolving fashion trends, comfort has remained a timeless companion.
Amitabh eloquently articulates his thoughts in the extensive blog entry, delving into various topics. He recounts his experiences of stepping out to meet people, proudly embracing the simplicity of bare feet, while sharing delightful snapshots of eager followers awaiting his presence. Dressed in a white kurta adorned with a red and blue jacket, Amitabh gracefully greets his admirers with folded hands and waves, as evident in the vivid photos showcased on his blog.
On a few occasions, some cynics have skeptically questioned, “Who walks out in socks and bare feet?” To which Amitabh confidently responds, “I DO!” Defending his choice, he emphasizes, “You wear bare feet to the temple. My well-wishers are my temple!” The esteemed actor highlights the significance of comfortable attire, dismissing societal expectations and embracing a break from imposed traditions. Formal shoes, be it the glossy black patent leather or any other variant, have vanished. In their place, comfort takes center stage with the rise of “sneakers” or other popular brands like Nike.
Concluding his blog post, Amitabh shares an engaging anecdote about a French competition where Yannik Noah appeared in jeans, an unconventional choice that puzzled the commentators at the time. Today, however, jeans and trainers have become ubiquitous worldwide, with even women opting for them in their workplace for ease of movement, including pairing them with tights. It’s a beautiful world we live in, where comfort and pride go hand in hand, overshadowing all else.
In a blog entry last year, Amitabh noted that the number of people gathering outside his Mumbai home to meet him had decreased. He observed that while the crowds were smaller and the enthusiasm somewhat diminished, the excitement now finds expression through the lenses of mobile cameras.
In recent weeks, Amitabh has revived his weekly tradition of meeting and interacting with fans outside the gates of his Mumbai home. Every Sunday, he emerges from his abode to personally greet the adoring crowd.
Amitabh’s last on-screen appearance was in the family-friendly comedy “Uunchai,” directed by Sooraj Barjatya, where he shared the screen with Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra, and Boman Irani. The film garnered a positive response from the audience. Amitabh is now set to grace the silver screen in “Project K,” alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. Additionally, he will showcase his acting prowess in “Section 84,” an upcoming courtroom drama film helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta.
